Pratt & Miller Engineer a Performance Renaissance

Cadillac's motorsports program is designed to change public perceptions about the Cadillac brand by demonstrating the marque's performance capabilities in head-to-head competition with legendary sports cars. Pratt & Miller supports the championship-winning Cadillac Racing program by providing world-class engineering, design, fabrication, and technical services that have made Cadillac the standard of excellence in the SCCA Pirelli World Challenge GT series.

Team Cadillac dominated the production-based series in 2004-2007 with Cadillac CTS-V sedans, winning 12 races and capturing the manufacturer championship twice. After a three-year hiatus in Cadillac's motorsports program, Pratt & Miller again transformed Cadillac's premier high-performance production model – the new-generation CTS-V Coupe – into a formidable racing machine. A quartet of victories by Cadillac Racing and a sweep of the 2012 World Challenge GT manufacturer and driver championships left no doubt about the CTS-V Coupe's performance credentials.

Pratt & Miller unleashed an arsenal of high-tech tools to turn the production CTS-V Coupe into a racing thoroughbred. Multiple Finite Element Analysis (FEA) programs were employed to optimize component strength all while minimizing weight. Modeling programs developed the optimal suspension geometry, and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) accelerated aerodynamic and cooling system development. Proprietary Pratt & Miller analysis and simulation programs deployed at the track gave Cadillac Racing a competitive advantage and showcased Cadillac's renaissance.
