Chevy's Return to Indy 2012

Seizing the Opportunity in Open-Wheel Competition

The introduction of an all-new chassis and new turbocharged V-6 engines in the IndyCar Series in 2012 provided an opportunity for Pratt & Miller to exercise its engineering expertise. Confronted by a host of unknowns with the new cars and engines, Pratt & Miller helped Chevy-supported teams to solve the new performance equation quickly and effectively. Pratt & Miller coordinated testing and development with Chevrolet teams in areas of common interest. This approach proved to be a key element in Chevrolet-powered entries winning 11 of 15 races in 2012. Chevrolet captured its first IndyCar Manufacturer championship since 2002, and Ryan Hunter-Reay won the driver championship with his Chevy-powered Andretti Autosport entry.
