Pratt & Miller Delivers a Decisive Advantage for Chevrolet Teams

Pratt & Miller Engineering has played an integral role in Chevrolet's dominance in NASCAR. In a ferociously competitive series contested by a dozen manufacturer-supported teams, any competitive advantage can be decisive. Pratt & Miller's advanced engineering technology and custom software solutions have made a difference for Chevy's affiliated race teams, which have combined to win 13 driver championships and 15 manufacturer championships in NASCAR's three national series since 2005.

Based at a dedicated facility in Huntersville, N.C., Pratt & Miller NASCAR support engineers enhance the race teams’ engineering capabilities by applying disciplined methodologies and cutting-edge technology. Specific areas of support include tire testing and analysis, vehicle simulation development, vehicle dynamics analysis, track characterization, and advanced instrumentation and testing support.

The centerpiece of Pratt & Miller’s extensive software support program is the PM-VES database that allows race teams to accurately track and share critical data. Integrated with other Pratt & Miller and team-proprietary engineering and analysis programs, the PM-VES database is a powerful and effective tool that enables critical engineering and race management decisions.

The successful launch of the Chevrolet SS in NASCAR Sprint Cup competition in 2012 and the rapid development of the Camaro in the NASCAR Nationwide Series are testaments to the competitive advantage provided by Pratt & Miller.
