No. 9 Stevenson Camaro GS.R Goes Flat Twice To Finish Out Of Top 10

Camaro suffers tire damage twice, halting forward progress in New Jersey
“Today was another crazy GS Race.” commented Mike Johnson, Team Manager for the No. 9 Stevenson Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro GS.R. He was referring to the Grand-Am Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge race – the B+ Heroes 200 - at New Jersey Motorsports Park wherein drivers Matt Bell and John Edwards were the victims of exuberance and perhaps, impatience on the part of their fellow competitors.

Johnson: “We were happy to have John return to the team after missing the last two races recovering from knee surgery. He was fast early and qualified fourth, but the speed didn't last too long as he was involved in light contact in the very first turn and was awarded a flat tire for his efforts. We changed the tire and moved right back up to sixth place before we pitted again under ye...

No. 57 Stevenson Motorsports Camaro moves another step closer to a win

Team is in the pink about second place finish at New Jersey Motorsports Park
At this past weekend’s Grand-Am Rolex Series race at New Jersey Motorsports Park, and wearing pink numbers and stripes in support of the Susan G. Komen For The Cure organization, the No. 57 Stevenson Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro, driven by Robin Liddell and John Edwards, crossed the finish line with a very welcome second place finish.

After starting from the pole and leading the GT field for most of the race, a late restart after a caution period saw the No. 42 Sahlen’s Mazda make a daring pass on the outside which allowed him to tuck in front of Liddell as the traffic-filled field headed into the first turn. Unable to immediately get back around the Mazda, Liddell charged hard until the closing laps when the Mazda driver went wide in a turn giving way to the Camaro. Earlier, in ...

- Detroit Up Next on World Challenge Series Schedule

MONTEREY, Calif. – Andy Pilgrim had to keep track of a lot of information in the closing laps of Friday’s Cadillac Sports Car Grand Prix at Laguna Seca Raceway.

Chief among them was the position of one Lawson Aschenbach.
Aschenbach, who had to start 15th in the field because he missed qualifying, rocketed through the field to fourth place late in the 50-minute Pirelli World Challenge Series event on the 2.238-mile layout, and had he passed ...

Carroll Shelby dies at 89

Auto legend Carroll Shelby died Thursday night at Baylor Hospital in Dallas at the age of 89.
Carroll Shelby's shadow stretched out Texas tall across nearly the whole of the world's automotive landscape. A natural as a race driver, he won three U.S. sports-car championships in Ferraris and Maseratis, and for Aston Martin he won the 1959 24 Hours of Le Mans with British co-driver Roy Salvadori.

Turning automaker in the 1960s, he fathered the Cobra, an Anglo-American hot rod of crude conception but stunning effectiveness that swept the tracks of North America and wrested a world manufacturer's title from Ferrari.

Pratt & Miller would like to extend our condolences to the family and friends.

Corvette Racing at Laguna Seca: Getting a Grip on a Challenging Circuit

Third Round of American Le Mans Series Is Crucial in GT Championship Fight
MONTEREY, Calif., May 7, 2012 – With 82 class victories to its credit, Corvette Racing has celebrated at race tracks from California to France – but it's been four years since the Corvette drivers sprayed champagne from the top step of the podium at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Fresh from a win in the preceding round on the streets of Long Beach, Calif., the Chevrolet team enters Saturday's six-hour American Le Mans Monterey with two objectives: to break the Laguna Seca dry spell, and to prepare for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Corvette Racing has competed in all 13 ALMS races contested at Laguna Seca. It took Corvette Racing six years to score the first of its four wins in the GT1 class in 2004. Since making the transition to the GT class in 2009, the highest finishing Corvettes have pla...

With the starting grid consequently determined by championship points, the No. 3 Compuware Corvette C6.R driven by Jan Magnussen and Antonio Garcia will start second in the GT category, and the No. 4 Compuware Corvette C6.R of Oliver Gavin and Tommy Milner will start third.

Today's early-morning practice session was shortened by red flags and intermittent downpours, limiting the Corvettes to less than two-dozen laps in two hours. Eight hours later, qualifying began under sunny skies, but the rain returned shortly after the start of the 15-minute session for the G...

Team Cadillac Shows Well in Final Long Beach Practice

Team Cadillac Drivers Show Well in Final Practice for Long Beach Grand Prix; Both in Top Six
Pilgrim Fourth, O’Connell Sixth in First Dry Session of Weekend

LONG BEACH – After the first real track time of the weekend, Team Cadillac put both CTS-V Coupes in the top six during Pirelli World Challenge Series practice.
Andy Pilgrim led the way in the No. 8 CTS-V, posting fourth-quick time at 1:23.684 around the 1.968-mile street course, and point leader Johnny O’Connell was sixth at 1:23.806.

“It wasn’t bad, for a totally green track after two days of rain,” said Pilgrim of his session. “Traffic is an issue here, especially with the GTS cars around the Fountain. You can’t get them easily. It’s a good start, but this is not the ideal Cadillac track. We’re both in the...

In His Own Words: Jan Magnussen

Riding positive momentum from Sebring into Long Beach
It’s always good to hear from Jan Magnussen one of the most well-versed drivers in the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón. After a runner-up GT finish in last year’s Tequila Patrón American Le Mans Series at Long Beach, Corvette Racing’s Danish star thinks this is the year Corvette takes a step back up to the top of the podium at America’s most famous street race.

Q: Sebring was the your best start to the year since Corvette switched classes to compete head-to-head against Porsche, Ferrari and BMW. Tell us how this finish will help you focus on a run for the championship?
Jan Magnussen: “Sebring was good for us and for sure, it’s the best start we had. We did have some issues there but we did the best with what we had. I think everybody on the team is ver...

Corvette Racing at Long Beach: Racin' in the Streets

Chevy Team Races Against the Clock and GT Rivals on Waterfront Circuit
LONG BEACH, Calif., April 6, 2012 – Now for something completely different in the second round of the 2012 American Le Mans Series. Instead of the wide-open expanse of Sebring, Corvette Racing will compete in the concrete-lined canyons of downtown Long Beach. Instead of 12 grueling hours in central Florida, the ALMS at Long Beach will condense the competition into 120 minutes of close-quarter combat. What hasn't changed, however, is the imperative to perform. With 20 championship points to be won on the waterfront street circuit on Saturday, April 14, the Chevrolet team will be fighting for a victory.

Corvette Racing has participated in every ALMS race in Long Beach, winning three straight in the GT1 class in 2007-09. After moving to the GT category, the team scored consecutive runner...
